What’s new in Herald, newest first.

November 2026: the first release

Sending

  • The API, with Resend-compatible routes: send one email or a batch of 100, scheduled or now, with idempotency keys, tags and attachments. Errors are RFC 9457 problems that Resend’s SDKs read.
  • SMTP on 465 and 587, with your API key as the password.
  • The SDK, @heraldmail/sdk: every endpoint, React Email rendered in your process, and webhook verification. No dependencies.
  • Domains with DKIM (RSA, and Ed25519 if you choose), an aligned return path, and checks that keep watching.
  • Webhooks, signed with Standard Webhooks (and Svix’s header names), retried for three days, with replay and test events.
  • Open and click tracking, on your own domain if you like, and one-click unsubscribe.
  • Test mode: test keys never send; their mail lands in Console’s Test inbox.

Console

  • Passkey sign-in, teams and roles, and an audit log.
  • The email log with live tail, and each email’s timeline.
  • Templates in a block editor, previews in a sandbox, checks and test sends.
  • Contacts, topics, lists, segments and imports; the preference centre.
  • Broadcasts with pre-flight checks, a canary and breakers; deliverability and Gmail’s view.
  • Automations on a canvas, with test runs.
  • Inbound mail, with authentication badges and images held back until you ask.

The platform

  • Herald Backoffice, for the platform team, behind device certificates and passkeys.
  • This site and its docs, including the API reference.
